Tamra
The theme of Tamra’s season is “change”. Not “the change”, or “spare change”, or “sex change”, just “change”. Tammy started season 7 married and ended it engaged to someone else, so that is certainly a lot of change. Tammy shares that Simon didn’t take the engagement news well, and that the fitness studio will be opening within about three months. Mr. Andy asks why Assy doesn’t seem bothered by Tammy’s snarky comments anymore, and Assy says it’s because she no longer puts any value on Tammy’s opinion, which is probably a healthy stance. He then asks Vic if Tammy is meaner than she used to be, and Vic says no (after thinking about it for a moment). She doesn’t know why they drifted apart. Vic and Tammy are sad and pensive.
So the other thing that’s changed is that Tammy and Gretch are no longer mortal enemies. Vic’s still burned by that and thinks Tammy can only be friends with one person at a time and is compelled to alienate everyone else. Tammy and Gretch disagree. Vic hasn’t caused problems with Eddie, she points out, because she accepts that Tammy loves him. Tammy says it’s because Eddie isn’t a problem to have problems with. I think it’s because Vic’s too busy with her full love tank, and perhaps Tammy should leave the broad alone unless she wants Vic pouting and pestering and generally trying to drag everyone else down to her level of misery, like she used to do.
Tammy thinks Vic’s every bit as mean as she is, and I have to agree. Just a pair of snarly old cats, these two. Vic acknowledges that she feels left out, boo hoo. One minute she’s bestowing the wisdom accumulated with age, the next she’s acting like 4th grade. Suck it up! Tammy’s also mad about Vic suggesting that she is now free to be friends with Assy because Tammy’s no longer in her ear badmouthing her – Tammy thinks Vic disliked Assy plenty enough on her own, and this new friendship is about convenience and a need for a buddy. Gretch thinks Vic is willing to overlook stuff when it suits her, and we all know that is true. Vic thinks that “with age” she has learned to decide which things are worth getting mad about. I think Vic is worn out and over this whole thing, but needs the paycheck.
Vic
So let’s talk about Vic’s icky love tank for a bit. We have a long montage of Donn2’s creepy sweet nothings and affirmations; a fan asks whether these affirmations aren’t brainwashing, and Vic says she doesn’t care because it’s what she wants to hear. This is her love language, people! If things don’t work out with Donn2 I think we’ve got the next Mrs. Tom Cruise right here. Pack that love tank with thetans and e-meters! Vic tells us that Donn1 and Donn2 get along nicely and handled each other much more maturely than Vic herself handled Donn1’s new girlfriend, which is a self-aware admission. She still doesn’t want to pay spousal support because she didn’t get child support in marriage #1 so doesn’t think she should get screwed twice, but frankly I don’t think one has anything to do with the other. It’s not like you get a credit for previous bad divorce settlements, and Donn1 needs some singles to visit the sex club, so let’s just let him have them. The man’s got cancer, for God’s sake. By the way, they are still technically married, which means Vic and Donn1 are both fornicating outside of marriage, and Vic hopes God will forgive her. I hope God gives her a serious talking to about a number of subjects.
A whole boring discussion about Vic’s hypocrisy follows, as expected. For one thing, Vic used to bash all the other girls for their closeness and dependence on their men, and now here she’s hung up like a 10th grader on this fool. Vic thinks everyone just hates her being happy, and they all blow up. Gretch is also mad that Vic is allowed to bash Slade’s child support problems, but no one can acknowledge Donn2’s. Vic reasonably points out that hypocrisy would have been telling Donn2 not to pay, which she didn’t, and acknowledges that last season she and Tammy thought Slade was hiding income under Gretch’s social security number, which would have been truly wrong but as it turns out wasn’t a fair accusation. So we’re done. For now.
