Where were we? Oh, right: planning the invite list for another hairpulling Housewives party. Before we get to the inevitable debacle, here’s the news:
* Congratulations are in order for Gretch and Slimey Slade, who are officially engaged! Doesn’t it feel like we’ve been through this before? Apparently Gretch did the proposing on top of a building in LA that has no doubt been the scene of many Bachelor rappelling dates. The proposal was filmed for RHOC so we’ll all get to feel like we were part of it.
* Up the coast, rumors that Lisa “Lips and Nips” Rinna would be joining the case of RHOBH have been scuttled by Bravo itself. My personal theory is that there was too much potential overlap with Kyle; Lisa has long owned a boutique, is in an apparently happy marriage of many years to a man some perceive as hot, and is also the mother of all girls, so as different as they may be they occupy the same general Wife category. I know some people have been speculating that Kyle will not be back next season but she’s an original and I can’t see them ditching her.
* In other casting news, rumors abound that Aviva Drescher will not be returning to RHONY, with no real clear reason why. To make matters worse, according to RealityTea, after her apartment building refused to permit any further filming on the premises, the Dreschers went out and rented a Park Avenue residence to facilitate filming and are in the process of moving in. Now all for nothing. Yikes!
* One person who is coming back to RHONY is Mo Singer, and according to RealityTea she demanded – and was denied – a NeNe-sized six-figure salary. The nerve! Someone thinks a lot more of herself than the rest of us do.
* Also in NY, Sonja is finally selling her beloved townhouse and it’s listed at $10MM. I guess not getting that toaster into production yet is taking its toll. In related news, I placed my first Yummie Tummie order last week and received my very satisfactory selection of motion-control devices in lightning speed. I’m a convert.
* And finally: the woes of Jacqueline Laurita continue to mount. Not only is she facing criminal charges as a result of the Easter brawl she was involved in on camera, but she and Chris apparently missed a payment on their home and the lender is rushing them right into foreclosure per the terms of their loan. Eek.
